"The Labour MP also noted that the latest figures showed “the increase in wages over the past twelve months is only 0.7 per cent, well below the current rate of inflation,” which, Ms Clark argued, “is just the latest indication of the cost of living crisis facing those in work and caused by the [UK] Government’s austerity measures. We urgently need an alternative based on secure, well paid employment.”

* inflation is at 1.5% , the 0.8 over wages is in part due to increased energy cost, food costs and wait for it, bank interest rates the first generally is down to Foreign owner's increases,Food cost are again in part due to transport cost increases, and the Banks ...essentially greed and of course Labour failure to regulate them
** Labour created the Working Poor by it's strategies , that is not open to any debate , they made a pig's breakfast of it , and it's all the UK Government's fault . I agree BUT it's not only the Tories , it's you lot as well. The Labour party has no thinkers, loads of "ologies" and no thoughts .If you were in power after an election there is nothing to lead any reduction in the "Austerity Program" you'll just carry on, Racking up the expenses as your core supporters go to food banks ........
*** Easy, Tick the Yes box in September and let Labour bin the third rate trash that represents them in Holyrood ,and start a new core value Labour/move to LFI/SSP/Greens.
In the meantime Scotland will adopt the Living Wage together with a fairer society
PS Ms.Clark and a serious point Would you have any kind of clue as to the creation of new jobs? Or even the way to stimulate growth?
If any individual could pluck jobs out of the air at the snap of a finger, don't you think they would jump at the chance ?
