Not for the first time the3towns has a story about our local MP Katy Clark criticising the Tory government's "austerity measures". This week she rightly attacks them because their "austerity measures" have led to massive increase in people having to use foodbanks, including the one in Ardrossan.
What gets me angry about this is that Katy Clark represents the Labour Party and will presumably vote against independence in the referendum. By doing that Katy Clark will be voting for the Tories to continue in government at least until the next Westminster election in 2015, and probably for another four or five years beyond that. The Tories have been in government for most of the time since the second world war.
If Katy Clark wants to end Tory rule and their "austerity measures" the best way to do it is vote for independence. The Tories will never form the government in an independent Scotland.

You're quite right, As far as I'm concerned ANY Labour MP who puts themselves above their constituents ,and by that I mean this rubbish of "socialism doesn't stop at the border" is disingenuous. It's about time some Labour MPs and MSPs grew a pair,
"If Katy Clark wants to end Tory rule and their "austerity measures" the best way to do it is vote for independence".......Should we be unfortunate to not get a Yes result in the Referendum then the Labour party are going to carry on the same as the Tories,as is there pledge.......
Sir Fitzroy MacLean , John Corrie, Brian Wilson and Katy Clark ,Did anyone notice any difference (apart from Brian Wilson spending a fair amount of time in Dublin) ??

I don't know anything about Brian Wilson spending time in Dublin, but I do know he didn't spend much time in the area he was supposed to represent.
He needed a constituency to be an MP and we were useful to his career. He wanted to represent the Western Isles but couldn't win there.

It eluded to a remark when Helen Liddell and Henry MacLeith were caught on film and tape
A newspaper article had it as
"Mrs Liddell derided the Northern Ireland Secretary during a conversation with Henry McLeish, Scotland's First Minister, as they prepared for a Labour party press conference to celebrate the election victory yesterday morning. Following a mobile telephone conversation with Mr Reid, in which he was understood to try to take the credit for the success of the Scottish campaign, she and Mr McLeish agreed that Mr Reid was a "patronising bastard". Mr McLeish said: "He really is." Mr McLeish also made vitriolic remarks about Brian Wilson, the former deputy Scottish Secretary who is now a Foreign Office minister. He said that Mr Wilson was a "great communicator" but he said: "He's meant to be in charge of Africa but spends most of his time in bloody Dublin."
It took ages to get that as the you tube clips have been removed

Well done finding that Dirth.
I wonder what was so interesting about Dublin for Mr Wilson?

The phrase "It's on expenses" would be all the motivation he needed , as the rest of them
Still to find the one about John Reid taking a swing at the ex-SAS man in the Commons,

I note to-day there is a post on WoS over Ms Clark's lack of response to a benefits question under the title "Actually lost for words"
I wonder if the non answer would be along the lines of the Labour Party's future plans are as the Conservatives ??

That's what bothers me about Katy Clark. She is always shouting about her support for the poor and the unemployed, but she wants us to stay in the UK with Tory governments imposing more and more austerity on the poor and the unemployed.
With independence it's likely we will have either an SNP or Labour government. The Tories won't have a look in.

"She is always shouting about her support for the poor and the unemployed" to me that's only lip service, I don't believe a word
I hope If there is a Scotland untethered to Westminster that Labour wraps it up and goes home, leaving it to a more left of centre party,Where the SNP would be at the first Indy Election, who knows? As a party they have no credibility left, and really the dross that they present in Holyrood , is unacceptable,I can't think of one MSP that is any good. That being said I'm sure there are a couple but I can't pick even one instantly, I'm not even going to dwell on it it'll take too much effort.
Labour are going to continue the same Con/Dem policies ,whether within Holyrood or Westminster,Go for the easiest targets take all that you can from then and be pals with the Bankers(substitute big businesses as required) ,and the debt will still increase..........and no one can say where the income really goes.....a bit like NAC
Westminster is full of folk that have never worked a day in their life.Brown,Darling,Alexander(Danny(lib) or Douglas your choice)Sarwar or Murphy and as such have no grasp of reality
